I was asked to format a laptop at work a few days ago due to the laptop having some issues. So after formatting I found myself at this very annoying part of the installation process where I need to connect to the internet to continue the setup and it doesn’t have any skip buttons. After a few searches I found an easy way to bypass this screen and install windows without connecting to the internet.

This is what the screen looks like. As you can see there is no skip buttons to go to the next page.

To bypass this just press SHIFT + F10. This should launch a command prompt window.

In the window type the following. (I will explain later what this command does)

OOBE\BYPASSNRO

The PC should restart automatically. Now proceed with the installation and once you reach the “Let’s connect you to a network” page you should see an extra option at the bottom.

Now Press the “I don’t have internet” button and on the next screen select “Continue with limited setup”.

Congrats 🎉🎊. Now continue with the setup as normal!

Now what does the command actually even mean?

Since some might be skeptical of the command let me explain what the command means by breaking it down.

OOBE means “Out of Box Experience” which refers to the initial setup process that users go through when they first start a Windows device. This setup includes steps like accepting the license agreement, setting up a user account, and configuring privacy settings.

BYPASSNRO means “Bypass Network Requirements Option” When this setting is enabled, it allows the setup process to skip the check for a network connection which is exactly what we are doing trying to achieve here. Normally, Windows might require a network connection during the initial setup to complete certain steps, such as downloading updates or signing in with a Microsoft account. By bypassing the network requirement, the setup can be completed in situations where an internet connection is not available or you just don’t want to give access to your internet at the moment.

p.s: Don’t forget to turn off all the windows adware and spyware buttons that comes after this process. Helps boosts performance as well 📈👀.
